  • OzHarvest Ventures, the innovation and social enterprise entity of leading food rescue organisation, and Chef Matt Moran,  a passionate champion of Aussie producers and supporting farmers, have come together to take on the mission of Good & Fugly who have sadly ceased trading due to the rising costs of operations, investment uncertainty and economic challenges.

Together, OzHarvest Ventures and Matt Moran have taken over the brand name and selected assets of Good & Fugly Pty Ltd to continue on its mission to reduce food waste and support farmers.  This is not an acquisition of the company itself, but rather an asset transfer.

OzHarvest Ventures, together with Chef Matt Moran will in time launch a new venture that builds on the original spirit of Good & Fugly, giving the mission a second chance - while also fighting food waste, supporting Australian farmers, and championing values of food sustainability and building a better food system across the supply chain.

“We are saddened by the closure of the Good & Fugly business, and respect the commitment of Good & Fugly’s founders to its original mission. We have always believed in the idea behind Good & Fugly and as a result, we are thrilled to be giving it a second chance that aligns with our values and mission,” said Ronni Kahn AO, Chief Visionary of OzHarvest Ventures.

“I’m passionate about backing Aussie farmers and reducing food waste, that’s what drew me to Good & Fugly in the first place. I’m proud to be joining forces with OzHarvest Ventures to give this mission a second chance and build on what the founders started. There’s more to come. Stay tuned,” said Matt Moran.

The new business will operate independently from the former company which has now ceased operations, under new direction and governance.
